Description of scenario:
Type of vessel: Vessel of 12 m or more but less than 20 m in length aground Visibility: In or near an area of restricted visibility

Applying the Rule(s) and comments:
In accordance with Rule 35 (i) (Sound signals in restricted visibility
), a vessel of 12 m or more but less than 20 m in length shall not be obliged to give the bell signals prescribed in Rule 35 (h) (Sound signals in restricted visibility
). However, if she does not, she shall make some other efficient sound signal at intervals of not more than 2 minutes. Comments: As a vessel of 12 m or more but less than 20 m in length is obliged to carry a whistle only, an efficient sound signal may be sounded by a whistle.
