Collision reporting

Reporting a collision or near miss to ecolregs.com is a secure confidential process. The COLREGs partners will study the reported incident in order to develop materials and scenarios that seafarers and cadets can learn how to improve the implementation of COLREGs at sea so similar incidents do not occur in the future.

Lessons can be learnt from all aspects of a near miss or collision, and details of the actions taken to minimise the effects of an accident are particularly helpful. Any recommendations or observations you have on actions that could have been taken at the time to prevent or lessen the severity of the collision or near miss would also be helpful.

Much is gained from the information provided from those with first hand experience in collision and near miss situations and we thank you in advance for your contributions.
